Prix SUD 2024

Terms and conditions for participation in the Prix SUD, the Sustainable Start-Up Award 2024

By participating in the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024, the candidate accepts the following conditions

Participation in the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024 is free of charge and no purchase is necessary. The prize awarded to the winning start-up consists of a profile of the start-up in Le Temps and a report on the start-up for one year (3 articles).

Anyone aged 18 or over and resident in Switzerland is eligible to enter. Entries are open to Swiss start-ups meeting the following criteria:

  • Less than 5 years old (as evidenced by entry in the commercial register)
  • A business model and a product or service that help to promote or accelerate the ecological transition
  • The product or service is marketed or can be marketed within a reasonable timeframe

Le Temps invites candidates to register online for the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024 once and only once. To do so, the online registration form "Participate in the Prix SUD 2024" on the Decilio application must be completed. Entries are open from Monday 22 January to Wednesday 21 February at 6pm at the latest. A jury appointed by the editors of Le Temps will select three start-ups and notify them by e-mail. A video will then be produced for each of them. Le Temps will produce these videos with the three selected start-ups in March 2024 and broadcast them on its platforms. The three finalist start-ups authorise Le Temps to use, without compensation and without restriction, the videos and any images produced on its platforms. Candidates agree that their surname, first name, place of residence, age and the start-up's contact details may be published.

The voting phase to determine the winning start-up will take place in April 2024. Internet users and members of the jury will vote for the start-up that, in their opinion, meets the criteria for the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024. The start-up receiving the most votes by the end of the voting phase becomes the winning start-up. Internet users are entitled to one vote. Each member of the jury is also entitled to one vote. In the event of a tie, the jury will decide between the winners. The winning start-up will be announced at the prize-giving ceremony on Thursday 23 May 2024.

Manipulated entries and multiple entries are excluded from the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024. Each person may vote only once. Employees of Le Temps and partner companies, members of their families and members of the jury are excluded from participating in the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024. No correspondence will be entered into concerning the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024.

All legal recourse is excluded. Prizes are not convertible into cash.

Candidates authorise Le Temps to use some of the data mentioned (name of the company, videos produced for the finalists, name and surname of the person in charge of the project) for publicity purposes and to send them information on the competitions and products by post or telemarketing. All other data will remain strictly confidential within the limits of the SUD Prize. Candidates may notify Le Temps at any time if they do not wish their data to be processed and transmitted for these purposes on https://www.letemps.ch/politique-de-confidentialite. The data will not be transmitted to third parties, except to persons and companies involved in the award of the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024. By ticking the second box, the applicant agrees that Le Temps may send him/her information on other offers by e-mail.

Regardless of the legal basis, Le Temps is liable only for direct damage resulting from gross negligence or wilful misconduct on its part. All other liability, in particular for indirect and consequential damage and for auxiliary persons, is excluded to the extent permitted by law. Le Temps accepts no liability for accidents or other damage caused to candidates through their own fault, through the fault of other candidates or third parties. Le Temps is not jointly and severally liable.

Le Temps reserves the right to cancel or terminate the Prix SUD Start-Up Durable 2024 at any time without notice and without giving reasons and to exclude persons from the Prize without giving reasons. Candidates may not assert any rights, in particular any claims for damages.

Should individual provisions of these conditions of participation be or become invalid, this shall not affect the validity of the remaining provisions.

These conditions of participation are governed by Swiss law, to the exclusion of the Federal Act on Private International Law (LDI).
