2022 winner Enerdrape
Enerdrape, an EPFL spin-off, is developing the world's first geothermal panel, which uses the underground environment as a renewable heat source for the heating and cooling needs of buildings. It's a cost-effective, easy-to-install solution for energy professionals and building owners, helping them to achieve their economic and environmental objectives while facilitating the energy transition of their building stock. Co-founded by 3 passionate scientists, entrepreneurs and engineers (Margaux Peltier CEO, Alessandro Rotta Loria CTO and Prof. Lyesse Laloui), Enerdrape is the result of a technology transfer from EPFL that began at the end of 2018.
2022 finalist Ponera
Ponera Group has developed a unique logistics solution based on an innovative modular pallet system that reduces packaging costs by minimising transport and industrial packaging inefficiencies. The flexibility of this innovation makes it applicable to a wide range of products and industries. Their range of modules in different sizes can be assembled to create any surface, offering total flexibility to users. Quick and easy to assemble, with high load capacities and ease of handling, their patented concept will optimise the efficiency of logistics operations.
2022 finalist Voltiris
Voltiris develops and markets photovoltaic modules that are compatible with agriculture, and more specifically with glass greenhouses. It enables greenhouse owners to turn their greenhouses into renewable power plants, thereby improving the viability and sustainability of their businesses. Voltiris' innovative modules enable dual use of agricultural land by producing electricity without reducing the yield of the crops underneath. Voltiris modules filter the light field to transmit to the plants the light waves they need to grow, while the rest is used to generate electricity. Thanks to the renewable energy produced, greenhouse owners need less external gas and electricity, and can significantly reduce their carbon footprint and costs.
